What is the intelligent ground vehicle competition?

The IGVC is a national competition for colleges and universities to create an unmanned autonomous vehicle that must successfully navigate around a maze of obstacles. The created vehicle must follow a set of rules, e.g. vehicle dimensions and minimum/maximum speeds, or the vehicle will be disqualified. When the competition is over, the school with the most points is declared the winner, based on points earned from examination of the vehicle, oral presentation, and performance of the vehicle in the obstacles course.
